Recipes for a Great Community

Task: Create a recipe for a great community! Include what "ingredients" would be needed, what would need to be done, and how many it will serve.

A Yummy Recipe
by Danielle

I am a student in my community. I am a value to my community because when I grow up I will work in my community as a vet.

I have a yummy recipe for a great community:

3 vets
3 doctors
a lot of houses
1 mailman
10 cats
10 dogs
a lot of people
1 grocery store
1 dentist, a school
1 McDonald's
and a playground

Stir it up for a great community that we live in.

A Recipe for a Great Community
by Brianna A. and Julie

The role Brianna has chosen is that of a student. She has chosen that because she wants to learn all that she can. This way she can be a better person. This is valuable because if she has more knowledge she can help to make better choices for her community.

The role Julie has chosen is that of mother and good citizen. This is valuable because mothers are good caretakers and every community needs someone to look after them.

A recipe for a great community:

  1. good, honest citizens
  2. community workers: doctors, dentists, police officers, teachers, and firefighters
  3. buildings and houses
  4. laws
  5. trees, flowers, and grass
  6. churches
  7. schools and playgrounds
  8. restaurants
  9. factories
  10. grocery stores
  11. streets and cars
  12. mothers, fathers, children, and grandparents

A Better, Nicer, Sweeter Place
by Paige S.

This is a recipe to make a great community. In this would be:

sugar
smiles
cheese
ice cream
frosting
sunshine

We would mix a whole bunch and put it in a huge, huge, huge bowl, and put it in a big, big, big, big, big plane, then dump it all over the world to make it a better and nicer, sweeter place.

A Healthy Recipe
by Amanda M.

I choose a doctor's assistant because I like it and I enjoy helping people feel better. The community always needs doctors to help people feel healthy. The doctor's assistant needs to help the doctors help the people. If the people are not healthy, there may not be a community.

  1. All healthy people
  2. People who have faith in each other
  3. Trust
